This is the third blog post in a series concerning Trading Depot’s new website www.tradingdepot.com and
concerns the checkout and payment options available.
Streamlined Checkout and a Choice of Payment Options
The old website had a complex checkout structure and this has been greatly simplified on the new site. An address lookup has been introduced so you can find your address from just a postcode instead of manually typing the whole thing and an additional ‘express’ method of payment has also been introduced.
The new website offers several options for customers at the checkout.
- Credit/Debit Card (via SagePay)
- Amazon Payments
The diagram above shows how you can either use checkout and pay by credit or debit card, or alternatively you can choose one of our express methods.
Paypal and Amazon Payments
We have always offered PayPal on our site and many customers say they prefer the speed and ease of it. Not having to remember multiple logins and passwords is a major advantage.
Another key advantage is you don’t have to key in any of your address details or payment details, you simply login to your Paypal account and choose from the addresses and payment options stored there.
Introducing Amazon Payments
We are always looking to innovate and help customers shop in the most efficient way and Amazon Payments is another way we are achieving this.
It works in a very similar way to Paypal. Customers simply click the ‘Pay with Amazon’ button after adding the product to their basket and they will be asked to login to their Amazon account.
You already trust Amazon when you shop online, so trust it when you shop with Trading Depot too. It’s a safe, secure, and convenient way to shop online.
Once logged in they are presented with their stored addresses and payment options. A few clicks later checkout is complete. The checkout is fully optimised for mobile phones and tablets so it really couldn’t be easier, even when you are out and about.
Secure Credit/Debit Card
We have chosen Sage Pay to process our credit and debit card transactions as they are accredited by all the major banks including Lloyds TSB, Cardnet, Bank of Scotland, Barclays Merchant Services, HSBC, Natwest Streamline, American Express, Diners Card, JCB, and Euroconex to provide secure online payments.
Highest level of security
Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS) is a set of standards to help protect businesses and shoppers from data theft and fraud. It is mandatory for all businesses to comply and as a trusted payment service provider, Sage Pay is compliant to the highest level – PCI DSS level 1.
