Techmar Garden Lights
Trading Depot sells a range of lighting solutions including outdoor garden lighting from Techmar Garden Lights. The company which is based in Holland has developed a plug and play system for safe installation of garden lighting.
12 Volt - simple and safe
The Garden Lights system is designed to guarantee your safety and that of your children and pets.
12 Volt (low voltage) is considered to be safe by European guide lines. Improved technology has now allowed 12 Volt lighting to provide sufficient light output to illuminate gardens and create ambient and atmospheric light effects.
The safety and simplicity of this lighting system makes it possible for anyone to install these lighting themselves. The complete systems, from transformer to the fitting itself, is manufactured with watertight screw connectors so no tools will be necessary during installation. The assembly of the lamps may require a screwdriver.
Garden Lights is suitable for installation in both existing and new-build or renovated gardens.
Plug & Play Garden Lighting
Means simple to install and easy to illuminate. The Garden Lights product range offers you a series of lighting products that can be easily and safely installed by everybody and without an electrician.
Each lamp is supplied with 2 meters of cable with a watertight screw connector, which fits the connectors to the main cable. It won’t any get easier! All cables and transformers are supplied with these easy to use, watertight screw connectors.
LED Technology
A number of lights within the product range are fitted with LED’s. Before now LED’s (Light Emitting Diodes) only had a limited light output and were therefore only suitable for low level, ambient lighting effects such as car dashboards. They were also only available in a limited number of colours.
New technologies and production techniques have now resulted in LED’s that are more powerful and versatile, making new applications possible. Now you can find them in cellular phones, traffic lights and in the rear brake lights in cars. And now you can also find them in Techmar's garden lighting.
The big advantages of LED’s are their extremely low energy consumption and the long life expectancy. A LED is also shock proof, runs far cooler than conventional lamps but can still be changed as easily (with a few exceptions)
Lighting fitted with our LED’s are extremely well suited for ambient and mood lighting applications.
Garden Lighting System explanation
For you to light up your garden and get the best results we advise you to take the following steps:
- Choose your lighting within the Garden Lights product range
- The total amount of watts of the chosen lighting determines the total amount of watts of the transformer (22, 60 or 150 watt)
- In case your system needs a 22 or 60 watt transformer it is recommended to start with a maincable 10 meter SPT-1W with 4 connectors, or with 6 meter SPT-1W extension cord or with a cable devider.
In case your system requires a 150 watt transformer you are advised to start with a SPT-3W main cable, or with an extension cable 10 meter SPT-3 or a cable devider.
The location in the garden defines how many extension cables and cable connectors are needed.
Now you can start the installation. Cables do not have to be dug into the ground and can be extended or adapted at any time. The product range contains a number of different transformers, main cables, extension cables and cable connectors.
Garden Spotlights
To light certain details or features in the garden you can choose spotlights. These Spotlights can be directed and are available in various models and materials - Garden Spotlights
Garden Uplights
Another way to illuminate certain features is to apply uplights, fittings which illuminate details from a fixed position. (e.g. from the ground) - Garden Uplights / Orientation Lighting
Under Water Garden Lighting
A number of lighting products in the range are suited for permanent use under water. These models can be recognised by the IP68 logo on the packaging - Under Water Lighting
Garden Post Lighting
Straight standing lighting can be placed along pathways, on lawns and between plants. These models are available with halogen lamps, light bulbs and LED’s - Garden Post Lighting
