MITA Conduit
Conduit should be able to move freely within saddles or clips and it is recommended that an expansion coupling is installed when a straight run exceeds 6 metres.
Thermal Expansion
PVC is subject to thermal expansion and0 contraction, therefore care should be taken to ensure that trunkings and trays are adequately supported along their length and are not rigidly fixed to any base support or structure. Fixing holes should be made oversize and screws should not be over tightened. A gap should be left between adjoining lengths to allow for expansion, 2-3mm will be sufficient for most needs but where extremes of temperature change are possible, a gap of 6mm should be left.
All systems are designed to allow installers to comply with current IEE regulations. These notes are issued for guidance and to assist good practice and workmanship.
Trading Depot supply a wide range of conduit, both round and oval, available in a variety of sizes at a length of 3 metres and available in both colours black and white.
